Episode Notes

The Harrises open with instant reaction to the Broncos’ 33–30 win over the Bills, focusing on five Buffalo turnovers, the interception controversy, and how Denver’s defense swung the game. Shelby raises concerns about the non-existent run game and how heavily the offense leaned on Bo Nix before his late injury, while Chris breaks down Josh Allen’s mistakes and what the Broncos must replicate defensively going forward. The conversation shifts to Jarrett Stidham taking over at quarterback, with debate over whether Denver can win by leaning on the run game, protecting Stidham, and trusting a veteran offensive line. The guys analyze the Patriots’ defense under Mike Vrabel, key matchups against Courtland Sutton, and what intimidation tactics Denver must overcome. In the NFC, they dive deep into Seahawks–Rams, praising Seattle’s dominant defense, questioning San Francisco’s future, and evaluating whether Matthew Stafford can steal one late. The episode wraps with reactions to Sean McDermott’s firing in Buffalo, possible coaching replacements, and championship-round picks from all three Harrises.

00;00;02;22 - 00;00;25;25

Ryan Harris

Welcome to where the Harrises. We have current NFL star Shelby Harris. We have Super Bowl champion and perennial Pro Bowler Chris Harris Jr and myself, Ryan Harris, ten year veteran of the NFL and Super Bowl champion alongside Chris Harris Jr. Well, fellas, we got the matchup that everybody was talking about. The Broncos versus the Bills in Mile High.

00;00;25;25 - 00;00;34;21

Ryan Harris

And the Broncos came out on top 33 to 30 over the bills. What did you take for the game from the game.

00;00;34;23 - 00;00;53;02

Shelby Harris

The Broncos stepped up when they needed to. Man I thought that was one of the most exciting games I've seen in a while. Back and forth, back and forth defense. Randomly making plays when they need to. And of course, let's not, you know, forget about is it an interception? Is it a catch?

00;00;53;05 - 00;00;53;15

Ryan Harris

It was.

00;00;53;15 - 00;00;54;16

Chris Harris Jr.

A pick.

00;00;54;19 - 00;01;12;04

Shelby Harris

I don't think there's any question. It was an interception. I think we all know you got to maintain control throughout the process of a catch. I thought it was hilarious. We saw Joe Burrow come out of Twitter retirement and let it know. He said it's been two calls this weekend and none of them are controversial. And I get it.

00;01;12;07 - 00;01;37;04

Shelby Harris

But this Broncos game, man, we saw this Broncos defense become game changers. Five bills turnovers. That is what made this Broncos team become that. What we saw on that Saturday night. I mean I started the game. But what I'm worried about about this Broncos team going forward, they got to run the ball. They were so inefficient running the ball that man this is a travesty.

00;01;37;06 - 00;01;58;09

Shelby Harris

They're lucky Bo Nix bailed them out over and over and over again. But the play calling though giving up on the run plays the scheme of the run plays. They got to be better. Especially obviously with the injury that we all saw. They're going to have to run the ball. And again we talked about church to them.

00;01;58;09 - 00;02;15;21

Shelby Harris

This just to them that doesn't matter. They're going to get their ass kicked. If they don't run the ball. They try to run the ball like how they did against the bills. They're going to get destroyed. This Broncos team is going to have to have all the guys step up that we you know, that we we expect them to play good.

00;02;15;21 - 00;02;27;18

Shelby Harris

They got to play great now. So I'm I'm worried about this Broncos team because of they already had issues running the ball. And now they now they're going to have to really lean on that in order to be successful. Successful.

00;02;27;25 - 00;02;47;03

Chris Harris Jr.

It was a great game. You know you what you expect from a divisional round. They like they said it's the best time of football. Right. But just seeing how Bo Nix played, he played a great game. You know, he was all point. He made some dimes right there. Dime the Marvin Mims in the corner. That was a beautiful throw.

00;02;47;05 - 00;03;05;06

Chris Harris Jr.

You know, he made plays with his legs. It was just unfortunate, you know, that he had, you know, broke his ankle the last second to the last play of the game. But when you look at the bills, it all comes down. It comes down to turnovers, right? Every year. Just like the same thing. You say the same thing every year when they lose, you know it's turnovers.

00;03;05;06 - 00;03;25;22

Chris Harris Jr.

And Josh Allen was careless with the football. You know those fumbles that he had he could have easily prevented those of just being smarter tucking the ball in. Norways scrambling making proper throws. And he kind of he, you know, he deserved to lose that game the way he played. And, it's going to take that type of effort from the Broncos defense even more.

00;03;25;22 - 00;03;42;12

Chris Harris Jr.

They have five turnovers versus the bills. They need six. You know go against the Patriots because Jake May's playing and all pro level. Not right now I would say he's playing. You know they Texans a tough defense. They got after him right. He had a lot of turnovers. But he's still playing at a high level. His receivers can get the ball.

00;03;42;14 - 00;04;01;08

Chris Harris Jr.

The Patriots they they are galvanized by coach variable right. You see they play with a different energy record. Mike Vrabel. So it's going to be a good game. But you know it's hard for me to pick the Broncos to beat those guys, the way they're playing. But you know we asked Mac the Patriots in Denver down there every time.

00;04;01;11 - 00;04;12;14

Chris Harris Jr.

So you got to bring that into factor also. But you know it just sucks for Bo Nix having a great year. Salute to you bro. But hopefully the guys can rally around Stidham.

00;04;12;16 - 00;04;32;00

Ryan Harris

Well congrats to every player and coach on the staff for the Broncos. What a big win. What a what a what a statement win for what this season was. Nobody believed in the Broncos. Everybody had picked the bills and the way they did it by being focused in detail. I mean I thought when the bills threw that touchdown pass, in the fourth quarter, I thought it was over.

00;04;32;03 - 00;04;48;10

Ryan Harris

You know, I thought, hey, man, you got to march down the field and throw it there and score a touchdown before they even blink. And sure enough, Bo Nix went and did it. So what a huge win. And the what an ownership group. They got to see Broncos Country at its loudest Cheering they we set the record boys I was there.

00;04;48;11 - 00;05;11;05

Ryan Harris

We set the record for the decibel I know you're going this weekend Chris. You better get higher than 119 because we set the record there against the bills. But that defense continues to dominate. I don't think Drake may seen a defense like this. I mean, even the Texans game last week, those Texans were scrambling because the defense was constantly on the field in the first half because C.J. Stroud had arguably the worst game of his career.

00;05;11;05 - 00;05;29;13

Ryan Harris

So, hats off to the Broncos. I think this is an easy, easy walk in, but let's go to second down because we got to talk about a couple things now. Number one, Bo Nix should have just taken two steps to the left and went down to a knee. And he wouldn't have broken his foot, but he broke his foot.

00;05;29;13 - 00;05;35;21

Ryan Harris

And so now Jarrett Stidham is in guys what do you think about Jarrett Stidham leading the Broncos to the Super Bowl.

00;05;35;23 - 00;06;02;19

Shelby Harris

Man I here's what I gotta say. It's been a great run to Denver Broncos. And I'm only saying this as I'm not I I don't necessarily believe in Judge Doom. But also on top of that the Broncos aren't doing anything other than relying on Bo Nix to make plays. So right now with Bo Nix gone, their offense is stand still.

00;06;02;22 - 00;06;25;20

Shelby Harris

We were just talking about how the run game is non-existent, 22 run, 70 yards that if you do that on Sunday, it's over. Say goodbye to the season unless there's a completely different mindset going in. And don't forget, if you do get a J.K. Dobbins back, then we should be able to run the ball. It should be at least 35 runs in this game.

00;06;25;22 - 00;06;48;01

Shelby Harris

Jed Sims should have no more than 20 passes in this game. If you want to win this game and it's not necessarily talking shit about Jarrett Stidham is talking about how good that Patriots defense has been looking like. Let's not let's not talk about let's not forget about how they're no slouches over there. They're they went out there and they made C.J. Stroud look like a high school quarterback.

00;06;48;04 - 00;07;10;18

Shelby Harris

The offensive rookie of the year. But a couple years before, they made him look like a high school quarterback. So this this Patriots defense is no joke. And Justin, this is going to be a tough task. But it seems like, you know, I my bullshit meter is pretty good. It actually seems like the team genuinely believes in Jarrett Stidham.

00;07;10;20 - 00;07;19;19

Shelby Harris

So I'm just talking trash here saying that they have no chance, but the team actually believes they do. And belief is a scary thing when you get into that playoff.

00;07;19;22 - 00;07;38;00

Chris Harris Jr.

I like New England but I'm gonna give you a little punt. Pump the brakes a little bit right. Houston Texans offense hasn't been playing good at all all season. Right. And then they got a little run. But mainly because that defense is going crazy. And C.J. Stroud hasn't been playing very well. Even prior to this game.

00;07;38;03 - 00;07;58;11

Chris Harris Jr.

Right. And then you play they play the who they play first. The Chargers. They, they can block a sole right there o line is trash right. Everybody's getting free. They just had you know just be just killing Justin Herbert right now. Now you gotta come to the mile High. You actually get to go against a real o line now.

00;07;58;17 - 00;08;18;23

Chris Harris Jr.

Now you gotta go against some solid, more solid weapons at receiver. I'm saying pump the brakes on the Pats defense. They play the trash. The Chargers offense right now, and I play the trash. Texans offense. Let's see what they do versus a real a solid offense versus the Broncos that was still alive right. What a shot.

00;08;18;23 - 00;08;25;13

Chris Harris Jr.

What a shot. Pain on the offensive coordinator. I want I'm not really sold on the Patriots, defense.

00;08;25;13 - 00;08;46;13

Shelby Harris

Yeah, but it's the Patriots defense. Made them trash or I get it was saying trash all year. But the Pacers defense shut these teams down and make them look elementary like I did. Like they weren't good before. They weren't the greatest. But they made the playoffs. And the Patriots pretty much beat beat the shit out of them. Both teams.

00;08;46;16 - 00;08;52;00

Chris Harris Jr.

Do you like the Patriots versus the bills? Did you think they could have brought that same performance versus the bills?

00;08;52;02 - 00;08;56;04

Shelby Harris

No, I believe so. I believe I believe that you.

00;08;56;04 - 00;08;57;24

Chris Harris Jr.

All they know the Pacers.

00;08;57;26 - 00;09;02;05

Shelby Harris

No I'm actually hey we'll talk about later. I'm actually all in on the Seahawks.

00;09;02;08 - 00;09;04;22

Chris Harris Jr.

But I'm actually all.

00;09;04;22 - 00;09;17;24

Shelby Harris

In the C. But I like the way the Patriots defense has been moving they over here crazy. Nothing but pressure. Linebackers flying around. And the way Christian Gonzalez is playing if he's healthy it's locked down on that side.

00;09;17;28 - 00;09;22;06

Chris Harris Jr.

So you like now to lock up Courtland Sutton this week. You like that matchup.

00;09;22;08 - 00;09;41;20

Shelby Harris

I do even though Courtland though which I've always said is one of the best jump ball catchers in the NFL. I've seen it over and over and over again, and that's where they're going to have to take advantage of that matchup, especially in the red zone. And just have Collins post up and go get it.

00;09;41;22 - 00;10;01;02

Chris Harris Jr.

I gotta go, man. Before we go to the next but we go to third down. And I think the Broncos get the dub, even though I don't really trusted them all that well. But I just think I'm not really solid on the page. I think they've man, they've taken advantage of an easy schedule this year. Right. They have they've had some great momentum.

00;10;01;02 - 00;10;06;19

Chris Harris Jr.

I'm not saying Drake Maye hasn't played well, but I just think they've taken advantage of a really solid schedule.

00;10;06;21 - 00;10;22;22

Ryan Harris

Well boys first of all about the first game. Let's talk it. You talked about it Chris. Here's junior Mike McGlinchey. That offensive line. They played their tail off. You had a Bosa out there against the bills. Didn't hear about him did you. Mike McGlinchey played his ass off. Give him a dog. Another notch on the belt because he locked one down.

00;10;22;25 - 00;10;43;09

Ryan Harris

Now first of all here are the three reasons why Jarrett Stidham is going to lead the Broncos back to the Super Bowl. Back to Santa Clara beating the Patriots just like Chris and I did. Number one. He's the real Drake Maye drafted in 2019 by the Patriots. By Josh McDaniels who they wanted him to go to Las Vegas.

00;10;43;09 - 00;11;01;21

Ryan Harris

Yes that same Josh McDaniels is now going to be the offensive coordinator. And so he knows the place. You guys you've played with defensive coordinators. You know what's going to happen. You know how they call a game. You know what they're thinking. You know what they think about you. So he has the inside scoop on the NFL's most brilliant offensive mind.

00;11;01;21 - 00;11;26;18

Ryan Harris

Next he went undefeated in the preseason. Hello. Over 200 yards to today's no picks against the Cardinals. Say what you want. The man did it. Okay. Anybody else undefeated in the in the preseason. Let's go. And then oh by the way this is second year in the offense meaning he knows the calls. He's not overthinking things. And he's going to get a full two weeks after this game to help them win that Super Bowl.

00;11;26;18 - 00;11;44;04

Ryan Harris

So Jarrett Stidham is going to do everything this week with all the ones reps. He's going to go lead. These guys do the little things the right way. Look the ball in. When you're when you're doing a play fake actually taking a knee when you're supposed to. Jarrett Stidham is going to do the right things. And with Jake Dobbins back they're going to run that football.

00;11;44;04 - 00;11;48;04

Ryan Harris

And the Broncos are back in Santa Clara. Let's go.

00;11;48;06 - 00;12;05;17

Shelby Harris

Yeah I don't believe that. But you know that that's a great that's a amazing amazing thought. And a real it could really happen. But now I probably won't as we move the third back.

00;12;05;19 - 00;12;13;01

Chris Harris Jr.

Oh let's not let them know we want to get a mars out. Right. Look how much money he bowls here.

00;12;13;04 - 00;12;15;18

Shelby Harris

What do you consider balling out, like 20.

00;12;15;18 - 00;12;17;05

Ryan Harris

Touchdowns or.

00;12;17;07 - 00;12;18;23

Shelby Harris

Five.

00;12;18;25 - 00;12;25;09

Chris Harris Jr.

Yeah. He just goes out there and has it looks good. If he puts on a good performance they get the dub. He's going to make him some money next year.

00;12;25;11 - 00;12;34;18

Ryan Harris

Whoa I mean he'll make a this could be a this could be an $80,000,000.21 days for Jarrett Stidham. Think about that I mean have you guys seen that.

00;12;34;18 - 00;12;35;25

Shelby Harris

Have you ever had a play.

00;12;35;27 - 00;12;54;07

Ryan Harris

We had a cat Chris you remember that we had a tight end come in pulled his hamstring. Still got a ring. Unbelievable. But like for an NFL player you have two starts and you can win the Super Bowl I mean is it Doug Williams. We're going back to me guys this really doesn't happen. This is the opportunity of a lifetime for Jarrett Stidham right.

00;12;54;09 - 00;13;16;17

Chris Harris Jr.

And I don't know his contract situation. But you know usually backup quarterbacks are usually 1 or 2 years right. So him going out there and leading the way. And if he goes wins the Super Bowl I mean how much money did Nick Foles get right from winning that Super Bowl. You know. So it's just a big opportunity if I'm lucky if I'm him I'm take I'm locked in right I'm super locked in I know I got a great chance.

00;13;16;19 - 00;13;32;26

Chris Harris Jr.

Also he's locked in for next year right. 5 million. So that's a lot right for a backup quarterback. So if I'm him I want to go out there and ball try to see if I can be a trade. Maybe he can be a trade piece for the Broncos. Be able to get some extra pieces. You know you never know.

00;13;32;26 - 00;13;35;18

Chris Harris Jr.

But this is a big this is a big game for him.

00;13;35;20 - 00;14;07;29

Shelby Harris

Well I think what we're missing here though is we always talk about when teams don't prepare for their starting quarterback to miss out. Yeah, the Broncos actually do have a real backup quarterback where at least we're able to have this conversation of, are they going to win or are they not? Other than when the Packers put Clayton tuning or or anyone else like that where you don't necessarily even know who they are and you know, it's automatically going to be a blowout, we know just them can still make some of throws.

00;14;08;02 - 00;14;35;16

Shelby Harris

He's not Bo Nix, but people forget he was the number one dual threat quarterback coming out of high school, above Kyler Murray, above Kyler Murray. And so he's going to have to go back to those old days to use his legs and and use his arm also to make plays, because he didn't know that Broncos O-line is one of the best phone lines in the league, if not the best online in the league.

00;14;35;18 - 00;14;58;15

Shelby Harris

I'm sure the Patriots, Mike Vrabel and them are going to whip up a couple ways, a couple of exotic looks that are going to get some free runners, and in order to block that off, you gotta have the quarterback really in tune with his O-line knowing what everything's going. And I believe having a valuable backup like that, who's been in the offense three years, that's going to help.

00;14;58;17 - 00;14;59;13

Ryan Harris

Well, look at this.

00;14;59;13 - 00;15;01;00

Chris Harris Jr.

Two I got a question. I have to go run.

00;15;01;06 - 00;15;16;18

Ryan Harris

No. Well my other thing about the Patriots defense and I don't care if it's Vrabel and he look he's the most successful coach that come out of Patriots way I'm not he's not in the Belichick theory. He didn't coach under Belichick right. So he's he's a he's his own man I think you got to give that to him.

00;15;16;20 - 00;15;35;02

Ryan Harris

But the Patriots entire plan defensively is intimidation. It has been it's what made Mike Vrabel successful. And that's what they're doing. Again they're playing bully ball in the first half. And you have to have the mentality to out bully them. They're going to tough up and show you a zero blitz. Guess what. You can pick it up. Call out the mike.

00;15;35;02 - 00;15;51;06

Ryan Harris

If you're if you're Jarrett Stidham and get your boys going the right way. Know where your threats are. You beat that every time. The intimidation is the number one thing that you're going to have to get over. Yes they have players. Don't get me wrong. Barmore is way more bad, but a fantastic defensive tackle. I mean he's he is a wrecking ball.

00;15;51;12 - 00;16;08;17

Ryan Harris

There are people all throughout that defense. You mentioned Gonzalez. Unbelievable. And when they are when they cannot intimidate you, they don't know what to do. They're still that same patriot manner. And I think that's the biggest challenge for the Broncos. You have to out physical the Patriots. And you got to get it in your mind today right.

00;16;08;17 - 00;16;29;27

Chris Harris Jr.

Here's my question okay. We always say you know Broncos are rated number one offensive line right. But how come that doesn't always translate to the run game. Is it the running back or like what is it. Because we see that the number one in oh line when we look at the metrics. Right. But I don't see a 100 yard rusher every week or dominant in the run every week.

00;16;29;27 - 00;16;32;13

Chris Harris Jr.

So maybe I can be able to answer that for c.

00;16;32;13 - 00;16;51;02

Ryan Harris

T r call the run. Chris, you were in the game with us. We were we were playing against San Diego in the last at that at that time, San Diego in the last game. We need it for for the number one seed. And I'll tell you. And we threw three straight passes, I went over to Gary Kubiak. I said, pull your head out of your ass and run the fucking ball.

00;16;51;02 - 00;17;07;03

Ryan Harris

We ran the ball, ran for over 200 yards. We won the game. So a leader on that line needs to talk to Sean Payton, because clearly no coaches are getting through to him about calling the run. Call the run. You guys tell me how hard is it when you get three straight runs on defense?

00;17;07;06 - 00;17;08;28

Shelby Harris

I was terrible as well.

00;17;09;01 - 00;17;22;15

Ryan Harris

So so in in me as an offensive coordinator, I'm saying I want to put them in the paint box, you know, and as an offensive lineman, you need the run called three times, the first time to figure out what they're going to do. The second time they're going to do something a little different. The third time, you know what they're going to do.

00;17;22;15 - 00;17;34;16

Ryan Harris

You can go right down the middle of them. That's how you call the run. You got to call the same run three times. And one of them better be a single back weakside run, because you guys love to bring down the safety, don't you? And play the strength. Come on, man, we're going the other way.

00;17;34;18 - 00;17;45;09

Shelby Harris

I would say this. I would say on top of this, call the run. Don't give up on the run. Yes. If if, if at first it doesn't succeed.

00;17;45;16 - 00;17;48;12

Chris Harris Jr.

Try, try, try again.

00;17;48;15 - 00;18;23;14

Shelby Harris

That is what the run game is. It's not going to look. Sometimes it's going to be a gain of zero. It might be a gain, a negative one. But then in the fourth quarter, if you keep calling it, those ones became five, those fives become eight and etc. it's just going to keep building. The issue is when you stop on the run, you let these D-line and get in track stances and pass rushing, and that's the last thing you want with the amount of money the Patriots and spent on that front seven, you don't want them to have a free run at the quarterback, especially when it's your backup quarterback.

00;18;23;18 - 00;18;30;28

Shelby Harris

So don't just call the run. Keep calling the run in the second and the third and in the fourth quarter.

00;18;31;01 - 00;18;41;16

Chris Harris Jr.

Y'all hear that man? That's great advice coming from, O-line, veteran O-line, a veteran D-line, right. Giving you inside of the run game right there. That's that's that's crucial right there.

00;18;41;18 - 00;18;59;28

Shelby Harris

Yeah. That's the third down. Hey, I will start with the Seahawks I know y'all saw that ass whooping in Seattle right there. Well I'm going to turn that game off after kick off. Hey that was a ass whooping. What are we thinking about that Seattle team man. Them boys look dangerous.

00;18;59;28 - 00;19;19;19

Chris Harris Jr.

Seattle look good, man. And I thought, I really thought it was going to come on Sam Darnold. And he would trick the game up. But it didn't even matter what he did right there. So dominant. And you know the their defense is getting after Purdy. He looked uncomfortable all game. And 40 niners, their whole team is, you know, in the ambulance.

00;19;19;19 - 00;19;38;24

Chris Harris Jr.

Everybody's hurt. Everybody's in the training room, you know? So, it's hard to win when you don't have all your guys, man. And you just got to salute Kyle Shanahan for even getting this far, right? Not having that team, not having those leaders and being able to still make it this far in the playoffs. But, you know, they just came up to a monster man Seattle defense is stout.

00;19;38;27 - 00;19;59;22

Chris Harris Jr.

Their D-line Leonard Williams is making plays. You know, the linebackers is a beast. You know, immemorial, love all the corners they got you know Weatherspoon they got a whole whole gang over there on defense. And you know and that's a tough matchup for anybody. So salute to the Niners. Y'all had a good season.

00;19;59;22 - 00;20;09;25

Chris Harris Jr.

But you know Seattle's just too strong on the defensive side. And their running game. Walker was running good. He was running hard. They're starting to wake that up. They're going to be tough to beat at home.

00;20;09;27 - 00;20;26;22

Ryan Harris

Well first of all I called this game the last time they played it in the regular season in Seattle. And Seattle won and they came from behind. Remember that? Was that that awkward lateral that actually turned into a fumble that then was a touchdown and Seattle came back. So but when I was at that game the Rams took their foot off the gas.

00;20;26;22 - 00;20;44;16

Ryan Harris

And they did not have DeVante Adams. Let's be clear. That's a different team. Now that being said, everybody better get off my guy your guy future MVP Sam Darnold get out the way. He's here to work. He's here to show you that you better get rid of your memories because he's got some fresh ones for you. Number two you said it Chris.

00;20;44;18 - 00;20;59;16

Ryan Harris

That defensive line I mean Leonard Williams has waited all year for this time. He's an 11 I think he's 11 years now. Leonard Williams I mean I'm talking about USC guy now. So you know this is hard for me guys. But he is he he understands what time it is. He understands he has three weeks to change his life forever.

00;20;59;16 - 00;21;13;25

Ryan Harris

He's going to go do that. And he's going to tell everybody else that. And you talk about him and worry that safety. He's a rookie and I think he's the best safety in the NFL. That's insane. I mean, you guys know how hard that is to do so. But you got to remember that 12th man. It is real.

00;21;13;25 - 00;21;25;00

Ryan Harris

It is loud I mean Shelby you played there. You you understand how that gives you energy as a defense? I got the Seahawks all day. And by the way, last two times they had the number one seed. They went to the Super Bowl.

00;21;25;03 - 00;21;46;08

Shelby Harris

Yeah that's Seattle Seahawks team. This looks unstoppable. But like Chris said though Sam Darnold really didn't have to do anything. That defense was special. Teams set the tone from the beginning. So what's going to happen when Sam Darnold actually has to go when his game. But he may never have to because that Seattle defense is doing things that we haven't seen in a long time.

00;21;46;12 - 00;22;10;18

Shelby Harris

Probably I'll say this, I think probably the best back end in the league right now with Woolen Witherspoon. Love any of the more you like that's they can predict it's it's ridiculous how much speed they got back there and it's just it's unfair right now. You know, the 40 Niners right now, like you said, Chris, they're over here going to retirement home looking for people.

00;22;10;18 - 00;22;31;26

Shelby Harris

It's over for them right now. And and they they have. Is it the end of the 40 niners run right now. Is it over? They have to go restock in so many different positions. They're getting older. Who knows. But man the Seattle team is looking extremely dangerous. And then you have that Rams team that that thriller in Chicago where you never know who's going to win.

00;22;32;00 - 00;22;52;15

Shelby Harris

Cal Williams on interceptions left and right. But all I say is if it ever is a close game and you have Matt Stafford, you're going to win the game. And I think when it when it comes to the Seahawks versus the Rams, the Seahawks should win the game. If it's not a close game with Matt Stafford, have the ball with a drive to go win it.

00;22;52;17 - 00;23;10;13

Shelby Harris

You don't ever want to get stuck against one of the best quarterbacks in the league. Oh last drive with a chance to go win it. So I I believe in this Seahawks team. If they stay out of that late game situation. But Matt Stafford having the ball and a chance to win the game.

00;23;10;16 - 00;23;29;08

Chris Harris Jr.

May sound McVay was making me mad this game. You know he had some bad calls that you know third and long situation backed up. He runs the ball a lot of times he was taking the ball out of Matthew Stafford's hands and I just couldn't understand it. And he just kept the bears in the game. Right. He kept giving them chance after chance.

00;23;29;10 - 00;23;46;26

Chris Harris Jr.

He can't do that this week. Right. You got to put it in Stafford's hands. You gotta let him carve up the Seattle defense. Which he has before. Right. We know how good they are on the covers, but if we look at any quarterback that's thrown on him, it's been Stafford. Right? If we look at any receiver that's had big yards on him it's been Puka right.

00;23;46;26 - 00;24;07;01

Chris Harris Jr.

So we do see a matchup a man's right there in the passing game. But it's going to come down to can Williams run the ball. Can he can he be able to keep that that Seattle offense off the field. And can the Rams defense covered Jackson Smith. And being able to cover all those tight ends that they love to use.

00;24;07;03 - 00;24;27;20

Chris Harris Jr.

Within the game with Seattle. So and Cooper Kupp came alive. Hello. Hi. He came alive. He woke up right right. All time right. We've been looking for him all season. He popped up and made an appearance. So the Rams got a can they play that same type of way this weekend on defense right. Create turnovers. They're not they're they're not very consistent on defense.

00;24;27;20 - 00;24;36;14

Chris Harris Jr.

So but if they can bring in another good game like that on the road you know they got a chance. But it's tough man. The Seattle defense is just so strong.

00;24;36;16 - 00;24;46;13

Ryan Harris

Well let's go to fourth down boys. And we got another coach fired Sean McDermott is out. What do you guys make of the exit by the bills head coach.

00;24;46;16 - 00;25;11;25

Shelby Harris

I think it was inevitable. Honestly at this point with a mahomes this playoffs Lamar Jackson's playoff. And you can't make it to the AFC Championship game to lose. We all we always kept talking about when it came to Josh Allen, the bills that the Kryptonite was the Kansas City Chiefs. Well you know that was it. Like the Kansas City Chiefs were going to beat them and and that they couldn't get past that hump to get to the playoffs?

00;25;11;27 - 00;25;34;23

Shelby Harris

Well, the Chiefs weren't even in the Ravens weren't even in it. So technically and and and everyone's eyes and I'm not saying I'm the top quarterback for the game weren't even in the playoffs. And you couldn't even make it to the AFC Championship game this year. So that just shows the older and shows the GM. It's it's time to move on.

00;25;35;00 - 00;25;59;20

Shelby Harris

This ship is stagnant right now and we might have hit our peak and it's probably time to move on. So I think it was perfect timing when it came to that because it's just you can't sit with a coach too long and expected to finally, just miraculously just change one day. The team is what it is. So it's time to disband and probably go a new direction while you still have Josh Allen in his prime.

00;25;59;27 - 00;26;15;01

Shelby Harris

I think that's the main thinking about this is you still have a quarterback in his prime. Let's not waste it. Let's, cut ties right now and we start the rebuild and put a brand new team around you that we could actually fight with.

00;26;15;04 - 00;26;40;04

Chris Harris Jr.

Yeah, this is going to depend on who they choose. Right? When we fire Coach Fox being in this situation, going to the playoffs every year, going to Super Bowls, you know, and Coach Fox still getting fired, right. That that's that we were all met at that at that period of time. Right. No. Tell him how the bills players I you know, they're probably upset and mad too because they have had success with their their coach is not like he's been losing.

00;26;40;06 - 00;27;00;03

Chris Harris Jr.

And the bills were trash before he got there. Right. So he changed their program and made him a consistent, you know, juggernaut, at least a playoff juggernaut. But you know, we were upset when Coach Fox got fired. But then, hey, they brought in a good group, right? We we end up loving coach Wade. We end up loving, you know, Coach Kubiak and the style that he brought.

00;27;00;03 - 00;27;22;04

Chris Harris Jr.

So it just depends on what guy you bring. And when you fire a guy like, Tom McDermott, you better have somebody that's that, you know, that's going to come in and, you know, turn the team up another level and that they're going to be able to deal with. And that's a big move right there. And I'm looking at the, you know, looking at the quarterback candidate, this seeing who's out there.

00;27;22;06 - 00;27;24;15

Chris Harris Jr.

You better be calling an Indiana guy.

00;27;24;17 - 00;27;26;09

Ryan Harris

Hello. No interesting. Any,

00;27;26;11 - 00;27;51;09

Chris Harris Jr.

That I would call. If I can't get him, then, you know, it's it's who else you got out there. Harbaugh's gone. It's the fans he's got. You might want to. Hey, maybe they go call Clint Kubiak, you know, see what he's doing with the offenses. Everywhere he's been, he's putting up numbers. And, you know, he has the, you know, the father would be able to kind of might be able to help mentor him in being his first head coaching job.

00;27;51;09 - 00;27;57;07

Chris Harris Jr.

But, you know, the bills got to find somebody that's going to be able to turn them up at the next level. And I don't see who's out there.

00;27;57;12 - 00;28;13;24

Ryan Harris

Well, I think you get a defensive coach if you're the bills I'm calling Leslie Frazier from the Seahawks saying, hey why don't you come on back to Buffalo. But this time as the head coach, if not Kirk Signori, I'm with you. I mean, go get him. That's a guy who knows how to run a program. I mean, he built the team that built that beat.

00;28;13;27 - 00;28;32;11

Ryan Harris

He built a team that beat talent. I mean, that's tough to do. But you got Vance. Joseph is in there to me. You know, Brian Flores is in there to me. So. Yeah. You got an opportunity. If you're Buffalo, go get yourself a defensive coach and get an offensive. Get somebody who just knows how to call offense, and that's all they want to do.

00;28;32;13 - 00;28;50;03

Ryan Harris

That's the that's the that's the front office makeup. That's the coaching makeup you need. If I'm the bills front office, go get a defensive minded head coach because you you let the Broncos score 33 points in the AFC Championship game. That's a that's a defensive problem too. Yes, there were turnovers. And your defense has not been the same since Leslie Frazier left.

00;28;50;03 - 00;28;53;06

Ryan Harris

And that's been an Achilles heel of this bills team.

00;28;53;08 - 00;29;22;26

Shelby Harris

Well you don't make a move like this firing Sean McDermott. If you don't have a plan or if you did make a move like that and you don't have a plan, good luck. Because right now, like you said, Harbaugh's already gone. Stefanski is already gone. So they already I feel like they have to have somebody already in mind that they want to have take over, because you wouldn't make this move after, I guess the top two head coaching candidates are already gone.

00;29;22;26 - 00;29;31;22

Shelby Harris

Unless, you know, you want somebody else already out there that's going to accept that job and take over to work with Josh Allen.

00;29;31;24 - 00;29;38;00

Ryan Harris

Maybe you call Mike Tomlin. Hello. I mean, hey, he said he wants a year off, but does he I don't know what's.

00;29;38;01 - 00;29;54;13

Chris Harris Jr.

So many good quarterbacks out there to take a year off. Right. When you got Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen out there. Like you gotta go. We gotta you know you never going to get a chance. You wait for quarterbacks like these to come around in the NFL. So if I'm Tomlin you got to jump on that fast man.

00;29;54;13 - 00;30;11;03

Chris Harris Jr.

Either one of those spots you know he he might feel betrayed going to the Ravens. So he probably won't go there. But the bills is a perfect spot for you. But you know being in that the they got a new stadium coming. There's some money, right. You can bring some new life up there. You got a quarterback.

00;30;11;06 - 00;30;14;17

Chris Harris Jr.

You know if I'm him, that's why I'm trying to go 100%.

00;30;14;25 - 00;30;32;08

Ryan Harris

Well, let's go to overtime, boys. It's time to make our picks for the championship rounds. I think one of the best days in football. Right. Back to back. Best on best NFC, AFC. We got the Broncos versus the Patriots. And we've got the Rams versus the Seahawks. Who you got.

00;30;32;11 - 00;30;53;03

Shelby Harris

I just don't think that the Broncos will be able to overcome the loss of Bo Nix and everything that he brings to the table. So I got to go with the Patriots winning that one. And then on the other side of the aisle like I said, I think my favorite right now is the Seattle Seahawks. They're rolling right now and momentum means everything.

00;30;53;05 - 00;31;00;11

Shelby Harris

And so I got to go. The Seahawks if they're playing some good ball right now and I wouldn't want to play them I can tell you that.

00;31;00;13 - 00;31;20;10

Chris Harris Jr.

I'm gonna go with the Broncos and the Seattle. Let's go Seattle. Just because that defense like shall we say they're playing great Broncos I just I'm not sold on the Pats yet. I'm just not sold. You know the eye test hasn't got me yet. They they're playing good ball. They're creating turnovers. And I like the little nickel they got.

00;31;20;12 - 00;31;35;01

Chris Harris Jr.

He makes some plays. He's, he think he's a punt returner. And also he, he's he's a baller. But I gotta go with the Broncos man at home. Patriots are they haven't had a great success in the mile at the Mile High. So I'm a rock with the Broncos.

00;31;35;04 - 00;31;37;09

Shelby Harris

New year new teams man.

00;31;37;12 - 00;31;59;12

Ryan Harris

Yeah well I got the Broncos winning. You better believe in Jarrett Stidham third year in the offense. He's got this. He's been ready. He's got two games to be able to create a legacy forever. And then I got the Seahawks. It's just it's tough to play in Seattle. You're going to be dealing with the noise. And they got the number of the Rams last time albeit on a couple of awkward plays.

00;31;59;12 - 00;32;14;20

Ryan Harris

But they got it done. Walker's running the ball real well and that defense is playing off their mind. Where are we at guys I mean gorilla pull us up. Where we at I think I came back up I might be in the number two spot this week okay. All right I lost three two last week okay. All right.

00;32;14;22 - 00;32;18;04

Ryan Harris

Who else we got? Come on. Let's see what Chris. All right.

00;32;18;07 - 00;32;23;01

Chris Harris Jr.

Man. See, I've been going against the painters, man. Maybe I might be wrong, man. I might need to rock with them.

00;32;23;04 - 00;32;32;16

Ryan Harris

Or you can change it now. You can change you. You want to change your position right now? Okay? Okay. All right, all right. And then we got Shelby. Where you at? Shelby. Oh.

00;32;32;16 - 00;32;42;28

Shelby Harris

Big sausage. And there. That didn't change. That didn't change my McPhee's, you know, Patriots, Seahawks still here. So I consider myself in first place.

00;32;43;00 - 00;32;44;01

Ryan Harris

00;32;44;03 - 00;32;58;04

Chris Harris Jr.
